艾爾莎(Elsa)與安娜(Anna)曾是最好的姊妹與兒時玩伴，但姊姊艾爾莎一次魔法的失控造成了姊妹之間關係的變化，即使安娜失去了意外的記憶，艾爾莎依然與安娜保持著相當的距離。艾爾莎登基大典的當天，安娜邂逅了來自南方小島的王子漢斯，沖昏頭的安娜與艾爾莎因此產生了口角，艾爾莎的魔力因而再次失控，整個王國陷入冰雪風暴之中，艾爾莎則一路逃到了吝無人煙的山間，在自己築起的冰雪城堡中自在地生活著。
