原是市井混混的阿拉丁，偶然間巧遇覺得生活索然無味、逃出皇宮的茉莉公主。大法師賈方也意外發現阿拉丁是賈方想取得神燈必要的關鍵。混亂中，阿拉丁誤觸了神燈，成了神燈精靈的主人，利用願望變成了阿里王子。然而賈方也不是省油的燈，識破了阿里王子的真實身分，搶走了神燈...。
阿拉丁是迪士尼復興時期各民族童話中代表阿拉伯地區文化風格的作品。阿拉丁強烈的音樂性更讓這部電影獲得了兩座奧斯卡獎(原創音樂、最佳歌曲)。
